One of the most crucial aspects of being a professional caregiver is practicing good self-care. Self-care becomes even more critical when you are dealing with grief. Effective self-care practices allow caregivers to continue their work while functioning at the highest level. You are human; therefore, you will experience grief. It’s as simple as that. The goal is to learn to hold space with grief and loss personally and as you serve others as an mental health professional.
